trend : pointed toe heels

I love when an "obsession" post becomes realized in a "trend" post!  Alas, the pointed toe heel.

 3.1 Phillip Lim, Carven

 Dsquared, Oscar de la Renta

 Preen, Reed Krakoff

Rochas

Prime example of the fashion gods answering my retail therapy prayers.

trend : pleated skirts

 Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein

 Chloe, Diane von Furstenberg

Donna Karan, Erdem

 Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta

 Philosophy, Rochas

Sonia Rykiel

I have to admit I didn't expect seeing this trend so soon - pleats have been very important the past few seasons, though more localized (so I suppose it is in good time, then).  A great accent on skirts of all lengths!

trend : overlay

 3.1 Phillip Lim, Badgley Mischka

 Calvin Klein, Erin Fetherston

 Giles, Giorgio Armani

 Helmut Lang, Jenni Kayne

 Milly, Monique Lhuillier

Nina Ricci

This trend came up in many different forms - lace overlays on solid dresses, sheer layers gathered over other fabrics, interesting cut-outs and perforations.

trend : leopard on top

Moschino Cheap and Chic, Nina Ricci

 Peter Som, Rochas

Yigal Azrouel

Leopard didn't appear in many of the shows, but when it did it was in the form of a top layer - coats, jackets, sweaters, you name it.

trend : patchwork furs

 Matthew Williamson, Michael Kors

 Sportmax, The Row

Yigal Azrouel

Different colors, different furs... a very fun, unusual look.

trend : turquoise & orange

It's funny - I start a job for Hollister graphic tees, and these two colors are major for us.

 Carven, Chloe

 Nanette Lepore, Narciso Rodriguez

Oscar de la Renta, Rag & Bone

 Rebecca Minkoff, Tribune Standard

Not only do I love these two colors individually - but they are striking when worn together.  If you don't want to go full blast on this trend, pair either with neutrals (beige/nude would be my choice) to let the color shine on its own!

trend : empire waist

A new silhouette is coming for next fall, and it's moving upward.  Looks like the natural waistline is slowly changing - to the empire.

 Philosphy and Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall

Proenza Schouler and Herve Leger by Max Azria Pre-Fall

Boo.  I'm not a huge fan of this waistline, but that's okay.  Maybe I will branch out and embrace it regardless.
